NAP - Metadata, v 1.1 is the North American Profile of ISO19115:2003 - an international standard for the description of geographic metadata. This international standard provides a common framework for producing and exchanging geographic metadata between nations; NRCan (Canada) and FGDC (U.S.) have adapted their existing standards to comply with ISO requirements, enhancing interoperability of geographic information metadata in North America.
